OKAY. hear me out...

most of you probably know that i'm a painter, and that i got out of school last week. two days later i started up on my 50 hour a week work regimen. i'm pretty much living out of my van/with my boss/boy/friends/sometimes actual house. all of this equals NO TIME OR SPACE TO MAKE ART.

so here's my idea. i want to set a goal to make 100 drawings over the summer (as inspired by dean nimmer's genius- look him up). however, i want to draw for the purpose of drawing and not so much to make art that i will keep or sell. i want to make sure i don't get rusty and that i keep ideas flowing. i want to work quickly. i want to be able to detatch from it and share it. sounds lame but...

HERE'S WHERE YOU COME IN:

if you give me your home address, i will mail you a drawing. no strings attatched. you don't even have to pay for postage. it doesn't matter if i know you or not. it will arrive at any point in the summer/ early fall. this will operate on a first-come first serve basis until i reach 100. some drawings will be big, others small. some fabulous, and i bet some terrible. some will be postcards. some will be multi-media, figurative, abstract, photos, blind contours, or mindless doodles on post- its. some will be personalized or directed, others will be sent arbitrarily to whomever happens to be next on my list. do not be offended if you don't get a masterpiece...and if you do...you know...treasure it or something. understand that the drawing you get may not be representative of my overall body of work. each drawing will be numbered.

the only rule is that you give me credit for my work/ let me know if you are going to post it or something.

at the end i hope to post pictures of all 100 drawings somewhere or other, but we'll see about that. i'll keep you updated.

hi. does anyone know how to submit details of a piece? i am computer-retarded, for lack of more politically correct terminology. i've been trying to figure it out, but you know, we painters don't know anything even vaguely useful
